Jesse Hughes Goes Solo!

Jesse Hughes is finally putting out his own solo stuff soon. 2 years after Eagles of Death Metal released Heart On, it seemed like the Hughes camp had gone quiet for a bit. Hughes’ partner in crime, Josh “Baby Duck” Homme, didn’t seem to be wasting any time as he started a badass new band called Them Crooked Vultures and continued touring with Queens of the Stone Age. He even survived DYING last year (yeah Josh rules).
Back to Jesse, talk of his solo project began back in October when Brody Dalle (frontwoman of Spinnerette and wife of Homme) tweeted (yeah, I hate saying that word too, but it’s gonna come up a lot in this thing):
BrodyDalleJesse hughes solo record is INCREDIBLE
She later said the album wasn’t done yet. And then everything was quiet until a few days ago. Travis Keller of Buddyhead.com made the announcement on his account that he was going to be putting out Jesse Hughes’s new 4 song EP on his new label tentatively titled Miracles.
From his twitter:
I should be getting the master to the first release on my new label Miracles, Boots Electric (Jesse Hughes solo) 4 song EP! Keep ya posted!
The single is rumored to contain 3 covers of Queens of the Stone Age, Bad Brains, and the Pixies material along with one of Jesse’s own songs. He also announced recently that the album would be called “Boots Electric” and that Hughes was the new “Godfather of Soul.”
While no release date has been issued and all we have so far is speculation and what Keller has revealed, it seems the wheels are finally moving and we’ll see Hughes solo album in 2o11 (which would be a badass companion to the new Queens of the Stone Age album that’s supposed to come out soon). And all I can say is fuck yeah!
